Matt joined OMERS Infrastructure in Toronto in 2013. In the first half of 2018, Matt transferred to the London office covering the European market and returned to Toronto in the second half of 2020. As Director, his role includes originating and executing on new transactions with primary responsibility for the utility sector. He has played key roles in the successful acquisitions of Chicago Skyway, D+H Collateral Management (Teranet), Puget Sound Energy and Inter Terminals’ UK Dutch and German storage portfolio (CLH). In terms of asset management responsibilities, Matt is a member of the Bruce Power asset team, and is a Board Director on Caruna and on Confederation Bridge. Matt’s previous asset management responsibilities have covered OMERS investments in CLH, LifeLabs, NextBridge, Teranet and the Ontario hospital P3 portfolio.
Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Matt was a Vice President at Macquarie Capital Markets with a primary focus on the power and utilities, and infrastructure sectors. Matt also spent time working as part of Macquarie’s diversified, leveraged finance and sponsor coverage teams.
Matt has an HBA degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, and a Masters of Finance degree from INSEAD.
