Verena Cavalheiro

Verena joined OMERS Infrastructure in New York in January 2020. As a Director in Portfolio Management and Operations, she is responsible for executing the global infrastructure operating strategy. Since joining the team, Verena has been involved in the origination, evaluation, and execution of new investment opportunities across the Americas. Verena’s ongoing asset management responsibilities have included GNL Quintero, Chicago Skyway, Alectra, and currently Teranet.

Prior to joining OMERS, Verena spent close to five years at Macquarie Capital’s Infrastructure team and Green Investment Group in New York, where she worked in both an investment banking and principal investing capacity with a focus on the power, utilities, renewables and environmental services sectors in North America. Prior to that, Verena worked as an investment banking analyst at INTL FCStone Securities.

Verena holds a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Management from the University of Nottingham, and an Executive Master’s degree in Finance from INSEAD.
