OMERS Completes Acquisition of Chicago Skyway

Feb 25, 2016 – OMERS announced today the closing of its previously announced investment in Skyway Concession Company LLC (“SCC”). OMERS made the investment in a consortium of aligned, long-term institutional investors.

SCC manages, operates and maintains the Chicago Skyway toll road ("Skyway"), under a concession agreement which runs until 2104. Skyway is a 7.8 mile (12.5 kilometre) toll road that forms a critical link between downtown Chicago and its south-eastern suburbs.

“We want to reiterate how investments such as Skyway are an excellent match for Borealis – both in terms of our goal of acquiring assets that will generate consistent returns for the pension plan’s members, and our objective of continuing to grow our infrastructure portfolio,” said Ralph Berg, Executive Vice President & Global Head of Infrastructure, OMERS Private Markets.

“In line with our strong record as a long-term investor and careful steward of assets, we look forward to working with our partners and Skyway’s management team to create value for all stakeholders,” Mr. Berg added.
